Getting back into the roll of things, this week has been insanely busy, which is why there is lack of activity on this blog. It's been work, uni, placement, work, just like that. All proper meals were taken at Ton Ton after a long day before taking the second last or last bus back home from the city.
Anyway, saw some bad news in the food world today (though it's actually old news, I'm just, you know, always the last to know things *emo*). Rise Restaurant, the one which Chef Hideki owned, has closed down. Even the website has been taken down. Apparently Chef Hideki is taking time off from the restaurant to raise a new addition to his family. Last year, I saw from the website that Rise was closed temporary for renovations and will reopen in March, which was why I was waiting all this time to revisit it... but now I find out it's all lies! LIES!
Nah, actually, I just had a terrible day at work. Let's go back to Hong Kong for a moment.

Next day~ hotel room view once again. Mind you, I haven't got Stanley'95 yet, so these are still photos taken from my old camera.

Some sight-seeing. Saw an official AKB48 shop! In Hong Kong!! And there were only girls inside browsing the products.

Ya-huh, there was a sign saying no photography, but I only saw it after I took pictures.

Mini crabs! Kani~ it tasted pretty good too. Kinda like rice crackers, but filled with crab flavor.

Suckling pig with jellyfish, a very typical dish you'll find in a lot of Hong Kong restaurants, as appetizers. Really crispy suckling pig, which, when dipped into the sauce that accompanies it, will send one to heaven.

Pigeon!! Funny, I still can't spell 'pigeon' right... I tend to spell it as "pidgeon" and then the red squiggly line comes up. Good thing this pigeon is just drumstick and wings, because the other parts are too fiddly to eat... full of tiny bones *lazy*

This was at Federal Palace again btw. My parents really love that place. Wonton mee~

That night, my parents planned on going to the same restaurant. Again. So I ditched them and went out with my friends instead. This was their oyster omelette~

Deep fried goodness with sweet chilli sauce at the bottom.

Just chicken =P what were you thinking?

That's chicken too. Actually, wait, are those blue/grey veins I see? That's actually frog. Yep, froggie claypot rice! It's Kermit we're eating there~ and he tastes exactly like chicken, hm-mm~

What's underneath all that vermicelli?
From Hong Kong Trip |
Just veggies =P

Night market. Hong Kong is full of these night markets, that's what makes it so fun to shop at night. Unlike Sydney, where night life is non-existent.

My pearl jasmine milk tea has a dead smiling person on it.

Mango desserts again! Can't get enough~

This was actually shaved coconut ice~ and it was surprisingly good.

Oh, what's hidden inside this one? =D

Oh I miss the claypot rice... =( And also, I'm going to hazard a guess you spell pigeon as 'pidgeon' because of pidgy in pokemon =P
Where are my fried mini crabs~?
oh no you've done it again!
L-O-V-E LOVELY
XD
It's always been pidgeons! I learnt it that way when I was small and it's stuck =(
Mini crabs were consumed by my mother =P
VALENTINE DAY KISS!
As for Rise.. we tried to go for my dad's b'day but their site disappeared :(
Then I find out it's completely gone, not just renovations. Disappointed!
aww.. your dad would have loved that place >< Let's hope it comes back =( It was actually one of the better restaurants for value and quality out there..
